We are thinking of moving to the Svoronata or Lassi area and starting up some water sport activities.  We have

noticed a lack of such facilities—is this because the authorities do not allow these activities on the island ?

The authorities do allow water-sports on the island.  It is important to note that the rules for this type of venture are very strict. 

We are having difficulty ascertaining exactly which offices you would need to approach to acquire the necessary paperwork. We think it likely that your best course of action would be to contact the Employment Office (Grafio Ergasis) and the Office of Business

(Epimelitirio) in Argostoli.

We would also advise your discussing the project with the Port Authorities and the Town Hall.
