First of all we would like to thank you for your very informative answer to our previous question about electrical appliances.

With regards to the Greek plumbing system—will we be able to bring our U.K. washing machine or would you recommend buying one in Kefalonia ?

A U.K. washing machine will work here with no problems

Practical tips:-  It is more economical in Greece to run washing machines on ‘cold-fill’ only.  If your present machine has both ‘hot and cold’ inlets you can buy an adaptor to direct ‘cold’ to both.

If you plan to buy a NEW washing machine (or any kitchen white-ware) we would recommend waiting—and buying in Greece.  The prices are comparable and, if there are any problems, you won’t be faced with the costs of returning goods to the U.K. under guarantee.  Buying here also saves on removal space and costs.
