Firstly, congratulations for an excellent website !  Easy to navigate and full of useful information.

There is one question I hope you can help with.  After returning to Kefalonia last year, after many years, I was disappointed to see how many of the island’s restaurants are losing their traditional and authentic atmosphere, and developing as touristy restaurants.

We are going to Kefalonia again this summer to look for property but will also be looking for places to visit that retain the true traditional flavour and culture of the island.

Can you suggest anywhere that will give us a really authentic atmosphere—rather than the tourist restaurants of the more developed resorts ?

It is not, normally, our policy to advertise specific companies, tavernas etc. 

There are, undoubtedly, many truly traditional and authentic Greek areas still to be found  ‘off-the-beaten-track’.

One such place, Spiaggia, is situated at Vatsa, on the southern tip of the Paliki peninsula.  The setting is exceptionally beautiful and the food excellent.
