Property Tax

going up?

I’ve heard rumour that land and property tax is going up soon.  Is this right ?  If so, how will it affect house prices in Kefalonia ?

Legislation has been introduced by the Greek Government to counteract suspected ’creative accountancy’ by a minority of engineers within the Greek housing industry.

Kefalonian Homes  only ever deals with reputable engineers and so this issue will not affect our prices.

The extent of the problem elsewhere remains to be seen.

Please note that the cost of raw materials is rising with the passage of time.  It is inevitable that house prices will continue to rise.

On a more positive side—appreciating values are an excellent investment for the future.

Kefalonian Homes, and thus, its customers, have not been  affected by this new legislation.
