Hi we are thinking about a holiday in Kefalonia in Trapezaki please could you tell me where is the nearest doctors etc., are as we will be taking quite young children with us and would like to know if there are doctors fairly nearby?

Despite all you may hear about rural Greece’s medical facilities they are, in fact, excellent. 

Trapezaki is a very small hamlet but within minutes you have the choice of local doctors at both Keramies and Simotata. 

In the unlikely event of a medical emergency you will be only 15 minutes from the island’s main hospital in Argostoli, where there are full A & E and ward facilities.

For minor medical problems you are advised to go to the local pharmacy.

Pharmacists in Greece are highly qualified and are very much the ‘front-line’ for diagnosing and treating common maladies  -  a system that is becoming more common in Britain.
